Seckford Golf Club at Woodbridge is brought to market

12.05am 25th October 2000 - Property

Humberts Leisure with Fleury Manico, chartered surveyors and leisure business specialists, have been instructed to sell Seckford Golf Club between Woodbridge and Ipswich in Suffolk.

Seckford Golf Club is situated in a highly visible location just off the A12 main trunk road, set against the backdrop of Seckford Hall, an historic country house hotel. The club comprises an 18 hole, 5364 yard, (par 69) course, dedicated practice ground, putting green and well presented clubhouse of approximately 2,500 square feet within its 89 acres (36 hectares) of picturesque, undulating parkland. The business achieved a turnover in excess of £325,000 last year.

Planning consents have recently been granted to extend the facilities including permission to almost double the size of the clubhouse bar/club room. These valuable consents mean that there is considerable potential for the new owner materially to increase the turnover of the business.

Ben Allen, who is handling the sale from Humberts Leisure’s new Winchester Office, which is dedicated purely to the golf and hotel sectors, comments: “Seckford Golf Club is an established proprietary club of around 350 members that enjoys a good local reputation. The club caters for a wide cross section of golfers and would be an ideal buy for either an existing operator seeking to expand their portfolio or a new entrant to the market looking for their first golf business.”

Offers in the region of £750,000 are invited for the leasehold property, fully fitted and equipped.
