HMH Brings To Market Derllys Court GC In South West Wales

3.09pm 7th July 2021 - Property

HMH Golf & Leisure is instructed by the Walters family to offer Derllys Court Golf Club to the market. In the same ownership since opening in 1993, this family operated golf club in south west Wales offers a fine opportunity to acquire a lifestyle business with good potential for commercialisation.

Derllys Court Golf Club is situated immediately west of Carmarthen with from ease of access off the A40. Occupying a hilltop location that offers fine views over the surrounding countryside and towards Carmarthen Bay, this freehold property (48.5 ha / 120 ac) comprises an 18 hole 5,824 yard (par 71) golf course, practice facilities, a 345 sq m (3,700 sq ft) clubhouse (that includes two 2 bedroom apartments) and a purpose built greenkeeping complex.

The Club is currently operated on a relatively low key basis, but still boasts over 550 members and a profitable trading record.

Robert Walters said: “My family and I have very much enjoyed developing and operating the Club over the last 28 years but have decided that it is now time to retire. We are grateful for all the support our loyal members have given us over time and aim to find a new owner that has the Club’s best intentions at heart.”

Ben Allen at HMH added: “Derllys Court Golf Club offers the chance to acquire a picturesque golf course and clubhouse that includes potential owners’ accommodation along with an easily manageable golf business. There is undoubted scope for the new owner to put their own mark on the business and to commercialise the operation should they so wish.”

Offers in the region of £1.0 million are invited for the freehold property.
