Lewis ‘putts’ his trust in Huxley

9.29am 6th February 2024 - Practice Range & Teaching

Tour professional Tom Lewis is already reaping the benefits of his newly-installed Huxley Golf all-weather practice putting green at his home as he seeks to build on his already successful career on Europe’s top tour.

The two-time DP World Tour Winner had just secured his 2024 Tour card with some ease, going 20-under-par in the final three rounds of the fiercely competitive DP World Tour Qualifying School in November.

“Living in the UK, access to top quality greens all year round isn’t unfortunately something that’s readily available to us. However, Huxley Golf’s installation has allowed me to put in quality practice at the convenience of my own home, 12 months a year,” said Lewis.

“For me, short but regular putting sessions have always been key to building both confidence and a sound technique and my new green allows me to do that. My first few events after the installation were strong putting weeks and I don’t think that’s a coincidence. Thanks again to the whole team at Huxley Golf!”

Measuring 11ft (3.5m) x 16ft (5m), Lewis’s enclosed home golf green optimises his outdoor space. It incorporates three holes, meeting his specific requirements for a left to right putt up the left side and straight putt up the right-hand side.

Huxley Golf premier all-weather greens receive a full golf shot or chip realistically, while also providing a true ball roll for putts. And, of course, there is very little maintenance required so Tom’s putting green will always be play-ready.

Will Alsop, PGA Professional and Sales Manager for Huxley Golf, collaborated closely with Lewis and his brother, who built a superb base with guidance, in readiness for Huxley Golf to lay its professional-quality all-weather green to the company’s exacting standards.

Alsop said: “We all recognised the importance of getting this green exactly right for Tom to help him prepare for a career-defining year ahead, and it was a pleasure to work with Tom and his team to deliver this. All of us here at Huxley Golf wish Tom the very best of luck and continued success throughout his 2024 season.”
