Power Tee and American Lake Veterans Golf Course renew partnership to make golf more accessible for Veterans

Ten Power Tee automated teeing systems help Veterans practice with greater independence, comfort, and confidence

American Lake Veterans Golf Course (ALVGC), a unique golf facility dedicated to serving veterans and their families, has renewed its agreement with Power Tee to continue providing 10 Power Tee automated teeing systems at its covered driving range.

The renewal ensures that veterans visiting American Lake Veterans Golf Course will continue to have access to automated teeing technology designed to make hitting balls easier and more accessible—particularly for veterans and golfers with mobility limitations or disabilities.

Built in 1957, American Lake Veterans Golf Course was established as a place where veterans could enjoy recreation and relaxation through the game of golf. Today, its mission remains focused on providing affordable, enjoyable golf for veterans and their families.

As a Jack Nicklaus Signature Course with a strong commitment to adaptive golf, ALVGC has made accessibility a cornerstone of its facility. The addition and continued use of Power Tee’s technology further supports that commitment by automatically presenting each golf ball at the golfer’s preferred tee height, allowing players to maintain their rhythm throughout a practice session while replicating the consistency normally associated with professional practice environments.

“Many of our golfers are disabled or older Veterans, and teeing up a ball at the driving range can be extremely difficult,” said Sam Williams, General Manager of American Lake Veterans Golf Course. “Power Tee makes it much easier for these golfers to practice and enjoy the game with greater independence. Partnerships like this help us remove barriers and deliver on our mission of making golf accessible to Veterans.”

For adaptive golfers and those with mobility challenges, Power Tee’s technology can provide an important additional level of accessibility and independence.

“We are incredibly proud to continue working with American Lake Veterans Golf Course,” said Martin Wyeth, Founder of Power Tee. “The work that ALVGC does for our nation’s veterans is extraordinary, and we are honored that Power Tee can play a small role in making the game more accessible and enjoyable for the men and women who have served our country. Renewing this partnership means more veterans will continue to have the opportunity to practice, improve and simply enjoy hitting golf balls with greater independence.”

The Power Tee partnership is part of ALVGC’s broader commitment to continually improving its facility and providing veterans with a first-class golf experience.

The Friends of American Lake Veterans Golf Course has invested more than $14 million in improvements and equipment, including a $1.4 million Rehabilitation Learning Center featuring Full Swing indoor golf simulators, improvements to the back nine, a new irrigation system, mobility-impaired golf carts and more than 72 new golf carts through its Cart Sponsorship Program.

The golf course is managed, operated and maintained by more than 200 volunteers, many of whom are veterans themselves, including combat veterans from multiple wars. Operations and capital improvements are funded through golf fees, cart rentals and donations from individuals, businesses, and foundations.

“American Lake Veterans Golf Course represents what can happen when a community comes together to support veterans,” said Wyeth. “We look forward to seeing many more veterans experience the benefits of Power Tee for years to come.”
