SPORTS MARKETING SURVEYS INC. (SMS INC) has appointed Michael Stone to the newly created position of Head of Research.

Michael Stone has 25 years’ experience in both qualitative and quantitative disciplines. During his career, Michael has developed a successful business from scratch, and worked extensively for blue chip clients such as HSBC & Barclays.

He has led projects with a high public profile, addressing issues such as attitudes to crime prevention and attitudes among medical practitioners and users to the future of UK healthcare provision.

Managing Director John Bushell said, “Our customers are looking for increasingly sophisticated qualitative research and analysis to supplement the quantitative insight we provide, and adding Michael to our existing talented team, will ensure we can provide that service”

An avid sports fan, Michael has been delighted over the last few years to combine his research skills and experience with his love of sport. Michael is a particularly keen tennis fan having attended 59 ‘grand slams’.  Michael aims to have achieved100 by the time of his 65th birthday.

Michael has previously worked with SPORTS MARKETING SURVEYS INC. as a consultant on projects including assessments of the economic impact of golf on the economies of Europe, of the barriers to entry for the sports of basketball and table tennis in the UK and of the effectiveness of the hospitality offerings at The Championships, Wimbledon.
