.Golf Ireland are delighted to announce the launch of the 2027 Club Volunteer Awards, returning for their fifth year with five categories to celebrate the vital role of volunteers in golf clubs across the island of Ireland.
The awards shine a spotlight on the passion, dedication, and generosity of individuals who volunteer their time to help their clubs and communities.
This year’s categories are the Women in Golf Award, Disability & Inclusion Award, Sustainability Award, Junior Development Award, and the Excellence in Volunteering Award. Nominations are open and can be submitted online by clubs or individuals, and multiple nominations are welcome.
The deadline for nominations is Friday 4th December 2026, with winners to be announced early next year at the Golf Ireland AGM.
Last year’s edition (pictured above) saw five outstanding award winners honoured for their contributions. The Women in Golf award went to Dolores Hamill of Tandragee, the Disability and Inclusion award was won by the Cushendall trio of Eveleen McCurry, Paddy Rae and Roisin Darragh. The Bray pair of Peter Edwards and Gerry Kennedy claimed the Sustainability award, the Junior Development gong was awarded to Monkstown’s Susan O’Sullivan, and the Excellence in Service award went to Orla Foley of Headfort.
“Volunteers are the foundation of our sport. Without them, clubs simply could not function in the way they do. The Club Volunteer Awards are our opportunity to thank them, share their stories and inspire others. We encourage every club to make a nomination and give their volunteers the recognition they deserve.” said Golf Ireland CEO Mark Kennelly.
Nominations for all five categories are now open. For more information on the Golf Ireland Club Volunteer Awards, including nomination forms, entry criteria, and terms & conditions, please click here.
