De Vere Golf has announced a strategic restructure at some of its headline resorts, as the UK’s leading golf resorts operator continues to strive to improve customer experience. Keith Pickard has been appointed Regional Golf Director, adding De Vere Mottram Hall to his portfolio of resorts alongside Slaley Hall and Oulton Hall, which he has held responsibility for since 2008. Both resorts have grown markedly during Pickard’s tenure and his appointment at Mottram Hall also positions him as a key figure to successfully deliver the ISPS HANDA PGA Seniors Championship, when the European Senior Tour’s flagship event is hosted at the Cheshire resort from 6-9 June.

Pickard has overseen five PGA Seniors Championships at Slaley Hall since 2008 and will bring his tournament staging, course preparation and event logistic experience to Mottram Hall as final preparations for the ISPS HANDA PGA Seniors Championship are made. The venue, which is rightly regarded as one of the finest in the North-West, has recently completed an extensive £6million refurbishment over the past 12 months that saw significant developments made to the course, clubhouse and its stunning hotel. Pickard will ensure the host venue is presented in impeccable condition for the European Senior Tour.

“I’m delighted to be a part of the next steps in the exciting future of Mottram Hall, following the significant investment that has been made across the resort and the announcement that we will host the ISPS HANDA PGA Seniors Championship this year,” commented Pickard. “The ISPS HANDA PGA Seniors Championship is the perfect platform for us to showcase how good Mottram Hall is from top to bottom. I’m really excited about working with the team to deliver a fantastic showcase,”

In addition to Pickard’s appointment, Tim Good will assume the role of Golf Operations Manager, with a focus on enhancing the customer journey and driving service excellence. Good has 7 years’ experience of golf resort operations and management, and will be responsible for ensuring the customer experience at Mottram Hall is in-keeping with the standards set by De Vere, as well as the premium facilities and atmosphere created by the multi-million pound refurbishment.

“We have enjoyed unparalleled success at some of our key resorts in recent years and the strategic appointments at Mottram Hall will continue to drive our progress as a Group,” commented Daniel Hodson, Director of Golf for De Vere Group. “Keith has been an outstanding member of the team at Slaley Hall and Oulton Hall, and with Tim and the team at Mottram Hall, we will be able to really make the most of the investment that has been made to create a truly outstanding golf experience.”

Mottram Hall is part of the innovative De Vere Club membership that provides the opportunity for golfers to play at all 19 De Vere courses across the UK for an annual fee of £325.
