Callaway has announced the appointment of experienced golf industry professional Martin Wild to the role of Regional Sales Manager – UK & Ireland, a move designed to maximise the company’s excellent start to 2011 and accelerate future sales growth across the region.

Martin brings a wealth of golf industry knowledge and experience from both the manufacturing and retail sides of the business and will take up this new role with immediate effect.

He will report to Nick McInally who, as of July 1st, will move from his current position as Marketing Director EMEA, into the newly created role of European Commercial Director, with responsibility for all EMEA sales-related activity.

Neil Howie, President and Managing Director of Callaway Golf Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: “I am extremely excited on two fronts: firstly, to be announcing the appointment of Martin Wild to manage our UK and Ireland sales and, secondly, the prospect of bringing the leadership and direction of our complete EMEA sales effort under the management of an energetic and inspiring leader like Nick McInally.”

McInally, who joined Callaway from Nestlé in August 2009, has already made a significant impact on the EMEA business, overseeing some of the company’s most exciting marketing initiatives, including the current Lamborghini promotion and also its deeper relationship with the Ladies European Tour.

“Both appointments will breathe new life and enthusiasm into our sales effort at a time when we have seen excellent Q1 results across the EMEA region, thanks to a well-received 2011 product line, backed up by some fantastic performances from our team of global Staff Professionals on Tour,” added Neil.

Commenting on his new role, Martin Wild said: “To be given this opportunity at a time when I believe, as do many of our customers, Callaway’s product line is the strongest ever is exciting to say the least. I am totally focused on continuing to build strong commercial partnerships that will benefit our network of retailers and their customers.”

Graham Martin, Regional Sales Director, UK & Ireland, will be leaving the business as a result of the restructuring. The company wishes him all the best for the future.

Callaway will shortly begin a process to recruit for the Marketing Director EMEA position.
