Braemar Golf have completed the recruitment of the PGA Golf Professional team on behalf of Zavidovo PGA National Russia. Recently, George Scott joined Alex Day who had arrived pre-season to set up the golf operation and golf instruction services. Together they will deliver all golf instruction and lead the golf operations at one of Russia’s finest golf facilities.

Alex Day is the Head Golf Professional and brings a huge amount of international experience and a high quality teaching reputation to Zavidovo. Alex has worked with Braemar previously at Muscat Hills Golf & Country Club in Oman, as well as having Eastern European experience after a period in Bulgaria. Prior to this Alex worked at the ex Ryder Cup venue, The Belfry, not only as a Golf Professional but in the Golf Sales Team.

Keith Haslam, Managing Director of Braemar Golf commented “Alex had to compete against over 40 applicants for this role, but having seen what an exceptional job he did in Oman, both in terms of the quality of his tuition and the success he generated commercially, it gave us the confidence to appoint him. This blend of teaching credentials coupled with the business and sales skills are a great combination and will be put to great use at Zavidovo.”

Alex has now been joined by graduating AGMS Student, George Scott. The plan is to have an experienced Professional alongside a trainee or student Golf Professional. This is the third year an AGMS student from Birmingham University has been placed and there is no doubt they are turning out some great Professionals.

George has just finished his third year and this placement will see him complete his course. Keith Haslam went on to say “George had the benefit of completing an international placement last year under the guidance of an excellent PGA Professional, as well as having worked in quality properties such as Mere Golf & Country Club in the UK. This experience and understanding of the quality levels expected will ensure George is a success in Russia.”

Zavidovo Club President, Alexander Yarunin added “just as month in, the feedback from members and guests has been very positive and Alex and George have made a big impact to date. We look forward to a successful season and thank Braemar again in recruiting what looks like will be a great team”.
