One of the biggest draws at September’s Golf Europe at Messe Augsburg, in Germany, is likely to be the new GC2K technology from Foresight Sports.

The company’s GC2 and HMT is currently the most in-demand technology in golf and is used and recommended by many of the world’s leading club manufacturers including Titleist, Cleveland/Srixon, Cobra/Puma, PING and TaylorMade. In addition, its portability and exceptionally accurate data means the technology is also used by dozens of the world’s top touring pros and coaches.

But the US-based company is taking the technology a stage further and, although full details have yet to be released, rumours circulating in the golf industry suggest the advancements are anticipated eagerly.

Edward Doling, sales director for Foresight Sports Europe, said: “Unfortunately we can’t announce much at this stage as the new technology is still in the final testing phase. But the feedback we have received to date is very exciting. Although the GC2K will launch officially at the Orlando PGA show in January next year, we are delighted to be able to show it to the European golf industry at Golf Europe.

“We’re very excited to be in a position where we are heading to Golf Europe with yet another ground-breaking technology to demonstrate. The GC2K has the potential to change another important sector of the golf industry in the same way as the GC2 and HMT have done, and continue to do.”

Doling’s UK-based sales team will be in attendance, as well as Foresight Sports representatives from across Europe and the US. The company will be demonstrating its full range of technology – including the new GC2K – as a full simulator, swing-room set-up and in a driving-range bay. It will also be showcasing both versions of its software – the Foresight fitting and simulation software and the European 3D Creative version which includes many different fun games including crazy golf and putting – as well as discussing with course owners across Europe how the conversion and digitisation services enables any golf course to be reproduced meticulously in the simulator.

Doling added: “The great thing about the Foresight technology is that once anyone uses the system themselves, they instantly understand how accurate, versatile, and simple to use it is. They see how quick it is to set up, how it works perfectly indoors or outside, off grass or a mat, and how it reads every shot in the bag perfectly. They see how it is the only technology to let them fit and teach every aspect of the game, all year round.

“We will be demonstrating all these attributes at Golf Europe and, not only can visitors see all the technology in action – GC2, HMT, full Foresight simulator, iPad app, the GC2K – but they can also benefit from a number of show specials. We will also be able to discuss finance options which mean a full, hard-sided simulator – ideal for increasing revenue 12 months a year – can be installed and operating for as little as £25 or €30 per day!

“It’s also a fabulous opportunity for us to get detailed feedback from our customers who already use the technology.

“The GC2 is, quite simply, the most accurate, flexible and affordable technology on the market today. So many big-name companies are now coming out and saying it, or acknowledging it, by using the GC2 as their preferred and recommended technology. And that is reflected in our experience, because as soon as we demonstrate it to people they immediately see why it is the best-selling system in golf. Seeing really is believing as far as the Foresight system is concerned.”

The GC2 – which directly measures ball-flight data at launch using ultra-high-speed cameras – and HMT (Head Measurement Technology) is the most in-demand technology in golf, having revolutionised club fitting and analysis since its launch in 2010.

Demand for the innovative Foresight technology continues to grow, as the introduction of HMT means all teaching professionals and club-fitters can gain access to critical club-head data, including dynamic loft and lie, as well as ball-impact location – all directly measured to unprecedented levels of accuracy. Previous techniques for calculating this information often proved inaccurate, but GC2 and HMT technology offers sub-millimetre accuracy on critical data.

Golf Europe celebrates its 20th anniversary from 29 September to 1 October at Messe Augsburg.
