Golf News, the most widely read free golf magazine in the UK, is teeing up another major milestone in its publishing history with the imminent publication of its 300th issue, which is due hit UK golf clubs and driving ranges, and be available as a digital download, in early March.

Published by Blue Green Media, Golf News was set up by owner Matthew Nicholson in 1994, and over the last three decades has built up an unrivalled position in the market. Published seven times a year, over 50,000 copies of Golf News’ print editions are distributed to over 600 golf clubs and driving ranges throughout the UK, with its A3, full-colour format making it stand out from the crowd, while the magazine is also available as a digital download via the Golf News website, www.golfnews.co.uk.

Golf News is also celebrating another milestone in 2023 with editor Nick Bayly having recently chalked up his 20th year in the role. An experienced sport journalist, with a 30-year career in the newspaper and magazine business, including 25 years in the golf industry, Nick joined Golf News at the end of 2002, as has since overseen the production of over 200 editions of the magazine, as well as editing the brand’s website and contributing to its various social media platforms.

Speaking about reaching the 300th issue milestone, Nicholson said: “It’s hard to believe that almost three decades have gone by since we first launched Golf News. At the time free magazines were virtually unheard of, and there was nothing for golfers to read beyond the more instruction-orientated paid-for titles. It certainly took time – and a lot of driving around the country – to convince advertisers that it was a model that would work, but here we are 300 issues and almost 30 years later, and the print magazine has never been more popular with our loyal readership, while our digital platforms are also helping to attract a new generation of golfers to our wide range of quality content.”

Popular with club golfers, casual players, golf day organisers and industry professionals alike, Golf News’ mix of club news, amateur golf, equipment reviews, player interviews, competitions, travel features and tournament coverage makes it a compelling read for a wide range of golfers, from those just starting out in the game to seasoned members, as well as those looking for somewhere to join, find out about the latest equipment, or search for golf holiday inspiration.

The 300th edition, which will enjoy a boosted print run, is packed with a winning mix of news, reviews and features, including an interview with world no.1 Jon Rahm, a profile of rising stars of the European game Nicolai and Rasmus Hojgaard, a preview of the 87th Masters Tournament, a comprehensive round-up of all the latest equipment launches, plus travel features on Dubai, Sicily, Greece and Scotland, and competitions to win Callaway’s all-conquering Paradym driver and Motocaddy’s new remote-control M7 GPS power trolley.
