Swedish software company Sweetspot has won a contract with The R&A to provide its data-driven revenue management systems at Golf It!, the new community-based golf and leisure facility that is currently being built at the site formerly occupied by Lethamhill golf course in Glasgow.

Sweetspot, which was founded in 2016, provides full-service revenue management systems that equips golf clubs with the business intelligence tools to improve their facility, whatever their level and size. The software is designed to help all golf facilities – including simulator centres and driving ranges – optimise their pricing and tee availability through its data-driven business systems.

Henrik Ahlin, CEO at Sweetspot, said: “We are delighted to get the opportunity to work with The R&A and implement our products and services into a mission-driven campaign. Partnering with an organisation that shares our vision to revolutionise golf and make it more accessible to everyone is the way forward to bringing more innovation into the sport and in turn attracting more players.”

Sweetspot’s booking software systems can help clubs maximise income through dynamic pricing

Since launching, Sweetspot has helped numerous clubs to increase revenues, even in the face of a pandemic. In the space of four years, Sweetspot helped Hills Golf & Sports Club in Gothenburg to increase its average revenue per played round by 24% through the use of dynamic pricing and data collection.

After its success in Sweden, Sweetspot is looking to roll out its systems internationally, with its project at Golf It! being its first entry into the UK market.

Ahlin added: “We are foreseeing a paradigm shift in the way golf clubs are doing business and maximising their revenue globally. Our mission is to make golf more inclusive and accessible by offering golf facilities a more strategic and data-driven approach that definitely has a place in the European golf market. This will lay the fundamentals of the game and future-proof the development of golf.”
