Royal Dornoch Golf Club partners with The Flying Caddie to deliver Cinematic Course Intelligence for visiting golfers

Designed to capture the local knowledge traditionally held by members, caddies and professionals, The Flying Caddie films provide strategic insight, hole-by-hole storytelling and real playing perspective.

Royal Dornoch Golf Club, consistently ranked among the finest golf courses in the world, has entered into a partnership with TheFlyingCaddie.com to introduce a new level of course understanding and on-course guidance for visiting golfers through The Flying Caddie’s signature Cinematic Course Intelligence Films.

The partnership will see The Flying Caddie produce and deploy a full suite of immersive course intelligence content across all 18 holes at Royal Dornoch. Designed to capture the local knowledge traditionally held by members, caddies and professionals, the films provide strategic insight, hole-by-hole storytelling, and real playing perspective — helping golfers understand how the course is meant to be played before they arrive and while they are standing on each tee.

Unlike promotional videos or drone-led course flyovers, The Flying Caddie’s content is filmed exactly as the golfer experiences the course in real life. It is created in direct collaboration with club professionals, caddies, and course experts, offering authentic strategic guidance, true sightlines, and the character of the venue without CGI, AI, or artificial enhancement.

The service is designed to support golfers at four key stages of their journey: during course selection and trip planning, in the build-up to arrival, throughout the round itself, and in the moments after play when golfers share their experience with others.

This partnership reflects Royal Dornoch’s commitment to delivering an exceptional visitor experience and ensuring golfers fully appreciate the course’s architectural intent, strategic demands, and unique identity.

Neil Hampton, General Manager at Royal Dornoch Golf Club, said: “Royal Dornoch attracts visiting golfers from every corner of the world, many of whom have waited years, sometimes decades, for the opportunity to play the Championship Course. The Flying Caddie has created something that has never existed before in golf: a way for those golfers to understand the course, its character, its stories, and how it is meant to be played before they ever set foot on the first tee, whilst strategically supporting every shot. The films are beautifully produced and the collaboration with our club professionals ensures the intelligence within them is genuine. I have no doubt they will enhance the experience of every visiting golfer who watches them, and I expect they will generate significant interest from destination courses around the world.”

Karl Birch, Founder of TheFlyingCaddie.com, added: “No golfer should ever play blind — especially at a course as strategic and storied as Royal Dornoch. This partnership allows us to capture the knowledge and nuance that lives inside the club and deliver it to every visiting golfer in a way that is cinematic, practical, and true to the course. This is not marketing content. This is course intelligence.”

The Flying Caddie is currently building a growing global library of premium destination venues, with Royal Dornoch being the first to go live.

Built with local professionals and course experts, the films capture real strategy, true sightlines, and the character of each hole. Delivered through a seamless QR-code experience on every tee, The Flying Caddie helps visiting golfers understand a course before arrival and experience it as it was designed to be played.
