SYNLawn UK has completed a series of golf installations across leading resorts, specialist fitting facilities and club academies this summer, expanding its project portfolio in the UK and Europe.

The Kingdom at The Grove, Trump’s Twelve at Trump Turnberry, the PGA National Golf Academy at Aphrodite Hills Resort and the 1907 Academy at Basingstoke Golf Club are among the projects that demonstrate the breadth of applications for the SYNLawn’s golf systems, from practice and coaching to on-course play.

The projects reflect demand for surfaces that combine consistent, premium playing characteristics with durability under repeated use. For operators, reduced maintenance and water use, critical during the hot, dry summers experienced across the UK and Europe, also make SYNLawn surfaces the practical option when developing new facilities or upgrading existing ones.

Michael Walker, CEO of SYNLawn UK, said: “These projects have given us the opportunity to demonstrate our surfaces in very different settings. At The Grove, the focus is on testing and fitting, as well as leisure.

“At Turnberry, it is about managing wear on a busy par-three course. At Aphrodite Hills, we have delivered a substantial academy tee line in a climate where water use is an important consideration. And at Basingstoke we created one of the most sustainable academies ever created by also utilising our natural hemp applications throughout the 1907 Academy.

“Each installation answers a specific requirement, but the common ground is performance and sustainability. Customers want a surface that feels right for the golfer and stands up to the demands of their operation.”

At The Kingdom at The Grove, TaylorMade’s testing and fitting facility, SYNLawn UK supplied performance turf systems across the indoor studios and outdoor practice grounds. The installation includes Precision Putt putting surfaces, Classic Chip short-game areas, Tee Strike and Tee Strike+ hitting systems, and target greens engineered to provide natural bounce, check and roll.

The facility demonstrates the role of specialist turf in custom fitting, where consistent club interaction and ball response support detailed performance analysis.

The Walled Garden at The Grove was also fitted with SYNLawn surfaces, providing benefits in a high traffic area or durability, heat protection, drainage, water saving and sustainability with a pristine look all year round.

At Trump Turnberry, SYNLawn UK installed synthetic hitting areas at the back of every tee box on Trump’s Twelve, the 12-hole par-three course that opened in August. The surfaces provide an alternative when natural grass tees need to recover from the concentrated divot wear caused by repeated iron and wedge shots. The installation gives the greenkeeping team greater flexibility to rest grass areas while maintaining a dependable teeing option on every hole.

At Aphrodite Hills Resort, SYNLawn UK completed its first Cyprus project with the company’s longest continuous TeeStrike+ tee line in Europe. The indoor and outdoor surfaces support the new PGA National Golf Academy’s coaching and practice programme alongside Cyprus’ first TrackMan Range.

Requiring no irrigation to maintain its playing condition, the synthetic tee line eliminates the area of practice turf needing regular watering during the Mediterranean’s hot, dry summers.

At Basingstoke Golf Club, the 1907 Academy combines SYNLawn hitting, putting and short-game surfaces with natural building materials supplied through Build With Hemp. Hemp-based construction materials, oak timber and a living wall form part of a facility designed to reduce the environmental impact of its construction and operation.

The installations build on the wider SYNLawn brand’s involvement in elite golf as the Official Synthetic Surface Partner of TGL presented by SoFi, the league founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. Its engineered surfaces are used in professional competition, with the same product range serving golf academies, fitting facilities, clubs and private customers.

That range allows SYNLawn UK to serve projects of different sizes, from residential putting greens and simulator rooms to extensive commercial practice grounds. Surface selection and installation are tailored to the intended use, whether the priority is ball roll, reception of approach shots or resistance to repeated club strikes.

Walker added: “Our completed installations give prospective customers a clear picture of what the systems can do. They can see them working in a fitting centre, on a golf course and within an academy, and assess how those applications relate to their own plans. We are building on that experience as we develop our work across the UK and wider EMEA region.”
