Leading equipment brand Mizuno has opened a new cutting-edge research and performance centre in the United States that is designed to revolutionise golf club fitting and performance through the latest technology.

Called The Foundry, this high-tech facility, which is located at The Standard Club in Johns Creek, Georgia, will serve as a destination for fitting, testing, and building custom golf clubs that meet the needs of every player, from beginners to Tour professionals.

The state-of-the-art facility is equipped with the latest technologies and tools to provide an unparalleled level of customisation and personalisation for golfers. One of its standout features is the comprehensive, Tour-level fitting for an entire set, offering players an in-depth analysis and ensuring each club is precisely matched to their swing.

Golfer of all levels will be welcome to come for a full custom fitting at The Foundry

SAM PuttLab and PuttView technology provide golfers with the ability to undergo putter fittings

The facility offers the opportunity to get fit for – and purchase – full sets of clubs and accessories

A R&D room with swing robot will enable Mizuno to test a wide range of sports equipment on site

In addition to the comprehensive fitting services, SAM PuttLab and PuttView technology provide golfers with the ability to undergo putter fittings with high precision.

SAM PuttLab’s fitting process uses high-precision technology to analyse various aspects of a golfer’s putting stroke, including face angle, path, tempo, and impact position, providing valuable insights to help fit the right putter and customise the setup for maximum performance.

PuttView’s real-time visual feedback on putting strokes allows for accurate measurements and improvements, helping golfers dial in their putters for peak performance on the greens.

The Foundry also houses a research and development room — a dedicated space for testing new products. Within this room is a robot capable of testing a variety of sports equipment, including golf clubs, baseball/softball bats, and even pickleball paddles. This high-tech robot enables Mizuno to simulate real-world playing conditions and rigorously evaluate the performance of its equipment in an effort to continually push the boundaries of sports engineering.

For golfers seeking the utmost precision and attention to detail, The Foundry features a full-service Build Shop, an exact replica of Mizuno’s renowned Tour Workshop. In this state-of-the-art facility, experienced technicians are able to assemble and fine-tune custom clubs, ensuring that each golfer’s specifications are met to the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
