Women’s Golf Day Takes Centre Stage At The New York Stock Exchange

4.39pm 1st June 2023 - Growing the Game

The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) welcomed a delegation of representatives from the world of women’s golf yesterday, as the Founder of Women’s Golf Day (WGD) Elisa Gaudet performed the honor of ringing the opening bell.

Joining Elisa on the stage were representatives from Acushnet, Titleist and FootJoy, partner of Women’s Golf Day, LPGA players Danielle Kang and former Olympian Leslee Maxie.  This monumental moment took place early in the week of this year’s new week-long Women’s Golf Day celebration, which will conclude on the anniversary of the very first Women’s Golf Day, Tuesday 6th June.

“I am delighted to share this platform with some amazing people who have dedicated themselves to promoting women’s golf,” commented Gaudet.  “The industry is working hard to make sure that women are well represented, that the sport understands the needs of its female consumers, and that women around the world see all the fantastic opportunities to get involved in golf. This commitment is reflected in the rising female participation figures around the world, from the bunkers to the board room, and we are incredibly proud of the role that Women’s Golf Day has played, and continues to play, in that change.  I can’t thank the NYSE and Acushnet enough for bringing women to the forefront here today and sharing our passion.”

As well as enjoying the platform given to them today by The NYSE, Women’s Golf Day has also been given the opportunity to remain front and centre throughout the coming weeks with brand placement on the famous ABC supersign on Time Square.  The branding will also appear at a second sign in Silicon Valley.

Women’s Golf Day is now in its 8th year and continues to grow around the world.  This year there are 4 new countries joining the campaign; Gambia, Greece, Peru and Zambia and there has been a huge increase in participation in Japan.  After holding its first events in 2021, Japan will host an astonishing 139 Women’s Golf Day events making it the 2nd biggest WGD country after the USA.

There is still time to find an official Women’s Golf Day event before this year’s celebration draws to a close on June 6th.  Events take place in a wide variety of locations including special events at all PGA TOUR Superstores on June 3rd, as well as traditional golf courses and driving ranges.
