Women’s Golf Day partners with PGA of America

8.58am 21st March 2023 - Growing the Game

Women’s Golf Day and the PGA of America have renewed their partnership agreement which will create multiple opportunities for PGA Professionals in the US to earn MSR credits and a mutual commitment to highlighting the resources and opportunities created by both parties for women to gain access to golf.

PGA Professionals can earn MSR credits for hosting a WGD event on any day between May 30 and June 6, for attending the virtual May 30 WGD Palooza, and the PGA Merchandise Show held each January. WGD will participate in the promotion of various PGA initiatives including ‘Find a PGA Coach’, PGA of America Events, PGA of America Career Match and Vendor Match opportunities.

“Women’s Golf Day gives our members fantastic opportunities to grow their network and learn more about the women’s game around the world,” commented Sandy Cross, Chief People Officer of the PGA of America. “We are a very proud partner of this global movement and the way in which it continues to offer female golfers the chance to celebrate their enjoyment of the game and attract even more women into the sport by connecting them to PGA Coaches, career opportunities, and more.”

Elisa Gaudet, founder of Women’s Golf Day, commented: “The PGA has always been an important supporter of Women’s Golf Day  We value its members, their continued promotion of our game, and their support as hosts of WGD events. Interest and participation in women’s golf is growing around the world, so we encourage PGA Professionals to use the week of Women’s Golf Day to host an official WGD event, thus creating an opportunity for new and existing golfers. The WGD format gives women in their area the chance to try golf for the first time and to mix and mingle with existing golfers. WGD gives us all the opportunity to play locally and connect globally.”
