The 3 Hammers full day ‘Ladies Love Golf’ event was held in association with The Astbury, Bridgnorth on Monday 14th September.

Over 30 lady golfers were joined by Sky Sports golf presenter Sarah Stirk for the away day event exclusively for 3 Hammers Ladies Love Golf members. The event which included a Q+A session and golf clinics supplied by 3 of the 5 full time PGA Golf Professionals from 3 Hammers Golf Complex, Coven.

Sky Sports presenter and Ambassador for ladies golf Sarah Stirk spoke at length about the up and coming Solheim Cup and the importance for more events to encourage female participation in the sport.

The Ladies Love Golf initiative is the brain child of 3 Hammers Senior Golf Instructor John Cheetham who in just 6 months has welcomed 78 lady members to the game of golf. Most ladies joined the revolutionary new Academy by progressing through the Complex’s popular Learn 2 Play Programme, of which half of all students are female.

Ladies Love Golf members enjoy a social, fun and relaxed golfing environment as well as having exclusive access to discounted green fees across the region’s golf courses, overseas coaching breaks, PGA away days, a choice of weekly coaching sessions and a free Ladies Love Golf member golf shirt – all for an annual membership fee of £49pp.

Sarah said: “It was great to see so many ladies on the course enjoying themselves in such a relaxed environment. It’s important for ladies to have access to venues to enjoy playing golf under relaxed conditions and also to receive top quality coaching is a bonus.”
