Faldo Futures Qualifiers Take Place Across The UK

2.22pm 17th April 2024 - Growing the Game

The Faldo Futures series has been gathering steam over the last few weeks with golf clubs across the UK staging their own qualifying events.

Open to boys and girls aged 7 to 12 years old, the new initiative helps club promote their venues as ‘junior friendly’, as well as promoting their junior activities such as membership and coaching.

Played over 9 hole competitions, with courses shortened to better suit the age ranges playing abilities, children are competing to qualify for Regional Finals in May & June, taking place at 8 selected venues across the UK. The winners of the Regionals go through to the Faldo Futures Final, being staged at The Belfry during the week of The British Masters in August.

One club that have already staged their qualifier event is Woodbury Park, near Exeter in Devon. Jason Winter, Resort Director, comments, “Our event was fantastic and it was just so brilliant to see youngsters get out on the course and enjoy themselves. We’re certainly thrilled to have staged it.”

“We had a good mix of girls and boys and a cross section of ages ranges. Congratulations to Archie Griffiths, Isla Schofield, Lily Radcliffe, and all the other winners who will be going forward to the Regional Qualifier at Cumberwell Park on Tuesday 28th of May.

Other clubs to have entered the series include Brocket Hall, Sunningdale Heath, Formby Hall and Royal Norwich, with all qualifiers due to be completed by 14th April.
