Club Maia, co-founded by former England footballer Carly Telford and DJ Lucy Monkman, has partnered with indoor golf venue Pitch for a series of events in London aimed at bringing more women into the game.
Club Maia has been created to help drive female participation in golf through culturally relevant activations that bring women together on and off the course.
Built on the belief that golf should feel welcoming and inclusive, Club Maia aims to create opportunities for women to discover the game, build confidence and form meaningful connections. Through a programme of events, content and community-led initiatives, the collective is creating new pathways into golf for both newcomers and existing players.
As official events partner, Pitch will host a series of Club Maia experiences across its London venues, beginning with Match Play. The concept introduces newcomers to golf through coaching and interactive sessions, while more experienced players take part in social rounds. The evening will conclude with a watch party celebrating some of summer’s biggest sporting moments.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment between Club Maia and Pitch to removing barriers to golf and creating more inclusive pathways into the sport. Club Maia is focused on building a female-led community around the game, while Pitch has spent the last six years redefining how people experience golf through its social venues, beginner-friendly programmes and commitment to growing participation.
Beyond Match Play, the partnership will support Club Maia’s wider programme of events, including ‘Clubhouse Confidential’, an intimate supper club and speaker series celebrating women in business and culture, alongside future experiences designed to connect women through golf.

‘I wanted to create a space that doesn’t currently exist – a space I would have looked for when I first picked up a club. Golf has given me friendships, confidence and opportunities, but getting started can feel intimidating. Club Maia is about creating welcoming experiences that help more women discover the game and feel like they belong from day one,’ said Monkman.
Telford added: “This is about creating a community for women and girls through three things I love – football, music and golf. We know the power that sport has to bring people together and we’re creating a platform where women can connect, learn something new and be part of a community that extends far beyond the game itself.”
Chris Ingham, co-founder of Pitch, said: “From day one, Pitch has been focused on removing barriers to golf and creating spaces where everyone feels welcome, whether they’re picking up a club for the first time or have played for years. Club Maia’s vision aligns perfectly with that mission.”
‘What Lucy and Carly are building goes far beyond golf. They’re creating a community that will resonate with a whole new generation of women. Through initiatives such as Pitch Futures, our Women’s Beginner Golf Academy and our Get Into Golf programmes, we’ve seen first-hand the appetite for more accessible ways to experience the game. We’re proud to be partnering with Club Maia and excited to help create opportunities for more women to discover and enjoy golf.’
The first Club Maia Match Play events will be taking place at Pitch Soho from July, bringing together women from across sport, culture and business for an evening of golf, conversation and community.
