American Golf Takes Golf on Tour

1.23pm 6th June 2019 - Growing the Game

American Golf is going on tour this summer, as it takes its unique golf experience to county fairs and top golf tournaments across the UK.

Starting with the Suffolk Show near Ipswich, the ‘American Golf Experience’ will continue to the Royal Cheshire Show and the Great Yorkshire Show between stops at selected European Tour events.

Visitors to the American Golf Experience will be invited to test their skills on a series of challenges that are designed to get more people swinging a club, whatever their age and whether they’re a first timer or experienced player. By taking golf out to county shows, American Golf is setting its sights on developing the game and encouraging more people to have the opportunity to play, even if they’ve never been near a golf club.

Conrad Edkins, Director of Marketing at American Golf, is excited to take the golf experience away from the course and can’t wait to see the public reaction to the unique activity.

He commented: “We’re delighted to be touring the country with our golf experience. It’s a great chance for golfers to test their skills on some great fun challenges, but also for anyone to try golf for the first time. We had a fantastic reception when we took them to the Betfred British Masters so we know that golf fans will love them. We now want to show the general public what a fantastic game golf is and this is a perfect opportunity to showcase the game in a fun, interactive way.”

The American Golf Experience will include a Chipping Challenge, where participants have to find the targets to win points; the Pressure Putt Challenge, which pits golfers against the clock to sink as many putts as possible from ever longer distances; and finally there’s a unique version of the classic board game ‘Connect Fore’, with a range of prizes on offer for the best performers across the show days.
