Turf Education Slovakia, which arose from the ambition to set up professional education for green industry in middle and eastern Europe, attracts more and more turf professionals from Slovakia, Czech republic and also from eastern Europe countries (Russia, Ukraine, Kazan, Lithuania, Bulgaria…) Many of them come back every year.

Speakers like Ruth Mann (STRI), Andy Cole (STRI), Richard Fortmuller (Environmental Turf Technology), MiroslavŠigut (ENGO Ltd) and Norbert Zaťko (ENGO Ltd.) made interesting speeches on various topics.

The event was supported by Baroness as General Sponsor and companies like STRI, CLR, Everris, Engelmann Golfplatzpflege, TORO, MLR and Desso Sport Systems.

The first day was closed by Panel  Discussion “Golf Course Quality Assessment”. It was a very interesting confrontation of different views – of players, greenkeepers/course managers and owners/developers.

The second day was devoted to whole-day workshop focused on Budgeting and Cost Planning. This workshop was led by the renowned course manager and consultant with over 40 years experience, Laurence Pithie. Participants have been working in groups and then presented their results. It was great opportunity to experience different – more interactive form of education. The feedback was excellent.
