The best highlights and innovations for the forthcoming golf season have been selected and awards presented in the categories Caddies, Training Aids, Golf Clothing, Accessories, and Clubs. This year there is a new special award for extraordinary product design.

An independent jury of experts from the segments of fashion, golf professionals, media, retail, and design selected the winners of this year’s GOLF EUROPE 2010 Product Awards. The jury evaluated the 68 products entered by 43 companies according to preset criteria in terms of functionality, design, user friendliness, and degree of innovation. Due to the lack of special innovation in the category of Footwear this year, no award was handed out in this segment.

In the caddy category the carbon trolley “CarboCad” by TiTec Golf received the coveted product award. The collapsible, three-wheeler electro trolley awed the jury with its extremely light material as well as its break-down dimensions: at 65 x 65 x 4.5 cm this trolley can fit even into the smallest of car trunks.

“Simple, yet clever” –  this was the jury’s comment on the training aid Golfmission by RSSDD. The award winning training aid provides a number of tasks for a 9- or 28-hole round. The golfer plays the round by fulfilling these tasks, and thus learns new skills. This simple, yet very effective tool for golfers of all handicaps and ages convinced the jury to present the award.

Very cleverly design, highly functional rainwear by Galvin Green, encompassing the models Achilles and Aquila, left all other competitors in the golf clothing category in the dust. The waterproof material combined with reinforced lower pant legs, as well as cinching feature for the jacket, lets ambitious golfers play even in inclement weather without having to worry about getting soaked.

The clear winner in the club category is HONMA BERES by Classic Club Repair. The club head features easy and smooth adjustment of a total of two degrees and two different angles without changing the shaft position. This ensures that the club feels the same when played, even though the golfer can affect the ball trajectory with the help of the adjustment.

The Golfoholic Pocket Warmer by ORGAHEAD not only impressed the jury as a very useful golf accessory, but also as a stylish product. The beautifully designed pocket warmer, featuring a size similar to an MP3 player, can conveniently be charged via a USB connection, a feature offered on several of the new electro trolleys. Cold hands during a winter-time round of golf have become a thing of the past.

This year’s new award for extraordinary design was presented to the CarboCad by TiTec. The simple design, combined with carbon material selection, provide the trolley with a fresh and athletic look. The balance of well-engineered functionality and esthetics resulted in a unanimous decision by the jury.
