Première Golf Apparel shows its colours

7.30am 20th August 2004 - Exhibitions & Conferences

Hosted by the Glasgow Thistle Hotel, Première Golf Apparel featured the Spring/Summer 05 collections of some 15 brands, enabling buyers to gain an excellent insight into the fashion trends for next year. The event was comprised of an exhibition, seminars for buyers, fashion show and gala dinner.
Over 140 buyers attended over the two days providing a relaxed but business-like atmosphere. Many had come specifically to place orders for delivery next season. The fashion show illustrated how vibrant and exciting the world of golf fashion has become and, in many cases, stimulated additional ordering on the second day.
“I liked the feel of the show,” said Charles Casson from Ashworth and Callaway Golf Apparel, “The quality of the buyers was very good and the event will have given each brand a chance to assess itself against the competition. The fashion show was an excellent addition to the event.”
Golf apparel specialist Sally Baljon, representing Chervo, commented, “I thought the show was a smashing success and it was commendable to hold a show at this time of year. The organisers did a first class job and provided an excellent venue. The fashion show was wonderful and was as good as any at a trade exhibition I have seen. The organisers also did a top-notch job in housing the exhibitors and visitors with very good facilities for all. There were 140-150 buyers present and they were all of good quality.”
Première Golf has confirmed that the event will take place again next year at a similar time of year.
Director Robert Fairbairn said, “Première Golf aims to provide top-class business to business opportunities for the European golf trade and I am delighted that the Apparel event was so well received. To many golf retail outlets, apparel is the life-blood of the business and, until now, traditional golf shows have failed to meet the specialist needs and timings of this market sector. I am sure Première Golf Apparel will grow in stature to become a vital date in the apparel buyers‘ diary.”
Première Golf Apparel is the latest addition to the Première Golf portfolio. This includes Première Golf Marbella, which will take place in November this year alongside the Première Golf Resort Conference, Première Golf Retail Conference and the OGRO Conference.
