Première Golf 2001 ‘off to a flyer’

3.00pm 28th March 2001 - Exhibitions & Conferences

Première Golf 2001, to be staged at the Marbella Congress Palace on November 13th to 16th, 2001, seems destined to be even more successful than last year’s inaugural show.

Already, several new exhibitors, including Ping, Sunderland of Scotland, Cutter & Buck, Ping, Dynacraft and RDA Smith, have signed up for the 2001 event. Added to this, many of last year’s exhibitors, including Acushnet, Taylor Made, Spalding Sports, Dunlop Slazenger, MacGregor, Adams, Yonex, Powakaddy, USP Brands and Lyle & Scott have re-booked, many with requests for extra space. The result is that the show will almost certainly be sold out well ahead of schedule with all the available space, including more of the ground floor, being used.

Indeed, such has been the interest that Première Golf officials have already instigated discussions with the exhibition hall’s owners in the hope that the facility can be expanded in time for Première Golf 2002.

“We have been overwhelmed with the interest and are delighted to report that Première Golf 2001 looks certain to be even more successful than 2000,” said Robert Fairbairn, the event director. “Exhibition space sales have already exceeded those of last year’s event with new bookings coming in all the time. Our challenge is to generate similar growth in attendance figures and we will work tirelessly through the year to promote the event as widely as possible.”

Last year’s show attracted some 1,500 key trade buyers but, not content with that, the organisers of Première Golf 2001 are casting the net wider, instigating plans to maximise interest from outside the UK to ensure Première Golf develops as a truly European event.

Further to discussions with last year’s exhibitors, the organisers have confirmed that they will also be expanding the VIP programme in order to maintain the high level of quality buyers attending Première Golf.

Première Golf 2001 is owned by Reed Exhibition Companies, who also own the annual PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida, PGA Fall Expo in Las Vegas and the PGA Merchandise Show of Australia.
