Nordic trade show for the golf industry

12.39am 20th June 2012 - Exhibitions & Conferences

“The Nordic Golf Show at the new Malmömässan from 3-5 October, will be a real boost for the entire golf industry. We are now taking an overall approach that streamlines business for both exhibitors and visitors. The idea to invest in a single, large event has been well received long before the premiere,” says Anders Westerlund, project manager for the Nordic Golf Show.

With the Nordic Golf Show, golf operators in the Nordic countries have one trade show to focus on, instead of having to visit several national trade shows at different times and places.

“A Nordic Fair is something that the industry have wanted for some time, because it gives clear benefits for both suppliers and retailers. The new setup is far more cost effecticve for all parties,” says Peter Wallgren, sales director at Callaway Golf.

A better location for visitors from all countries

Malmö as the new address will benefit all visitors and exhibitors. The new Malmömässan has its own train station which means only 11 minutes travel time from Kastrup airport inCopenhagenand 30 minutes from Sturup airport. The new premises are of course also a fresh new “costume”.

“All this makes Malmö a better location, both to attract more visitors and to strengthen the exhibition’s Nordic character. Many golf companies are already seeing the Nordic region as one market. In that perspective, it is a really big market, with over one million golfers,” says Anders Westerlund

The initiative is appreciated by the golf industry

The idea of a joint Nordic golf exhibition has long before the premiere brought positive reactions from the various countries PGA and supplier organizations. They see the benefits and want to take advantage of the opportunities that the new exhibition offers. Among the most positive are the organizers behind the Danish PGA trade show in Vejle:

“This was a welcomed initiative and is a smart solution for the entire industry. We have therefore chosen to focus on the Nordic Golf Show. There is a solution with many advantages, so we have decided not to arrange the show in Vejle this year,” says Alvah Routledge, president of PGA Denmark. “All big brands have also announced their participation, which ensures plenty of news and products from clothing to equipment.”

Two exhibitions on the same premises

Golf Store, continentalEurope’s largest retailing organization with golf shops in six different countries, will hold their trade show directly after the Nordic Golf Show. This means two golf trade shows in the same exhibition hall. This provides additional synergies for participating exhibitors and visitors.

“This Nordic initiative will develop a more cost effective sales process in many ways.   We are confident that this is the best way to go and that the show will give a big boost for the golf industry,” says Anders Westerlund.
