Jacobsen had an excellent BTME, both inside the Harrogate exhibition centre and at events outside.

The week began for the Jacobsen team with a Monday night reunion for past and present delegates of the Jacobsen-sponsored Future Turf Management Initiative. The networking event began with a drinks reception for over 40 past and present FTMI alumni and concluded with a meal in a local Indian restaurant.

The Jacobsen stand in Hall M had good footfall on the opening day of the show and excellent traffic on Wednesday, the busiest day of the show. There were BTME debuts for the new Jacobsen LF577 seven unit fairway mower, the Jacobsen HR700 wide area rotary mower and the Jacobsen Truckster, the biggest heavy duty utility vehicle in its class. Also on display was the new E-Z-GO RXV golf car featuring the new TKV GPS management system.

The opening day concluded with the Jacobsen-sponsored BIGGA Welcome Celebration, hosted by BBC TV’s Naga Munchetty. David Withers, President of Jacobsen, thanked everyone for their attendance and congratulated BIGGA’s Jim Croxton on the success of their ‘Continue to Learn’ education programme before handing over the Breakfast TV presenter to host the evening’s awards ceremony. He was recalled to the stage to present the Ransomes Jacobsen Edwin Budding Award to Stephen Tucker, Equipment Manager at Tranquillo Golf Club in Florida.

Wednesday was our busiest day on the show stand; lots of visitors, lots of enquiries and plenty of solid leads. Jacobsen President David Withers was kept very busy with seven media interviews throughout the day from various magazines and websites, the final one on video. The evening was extremely hectic, beginning with the highly successful ‘Orange Hour’ at Wetherspoons with Jacobsen-sponsored drinks at drastically reduced prices! The team then split up, some to the GolfBIC dinner, some to the STRI Environment Awards and others entertaining customers in the restaurants of Harrogate.

Thursday was the shortest and quietest day of the show, but those visitors who came on stand were mostly serious enquirers and were able to spend quality time reviewing the products on display.

Commenting at the close of show, Karen Proctor, Jacobsen’s International Marketing Manager said, “Once again, we congratulate BIGGA for putting on a great week of education, networking events and, of course, the trade exhibition. Combining this with the planned events we undertook outside the venue has ensured that BTME 2016 worked really well for our business.”
