GOLF EUROPE 2011 postponed

2.37am 26th May 2011 - Exhibitions & Conferences

‘Structural changes in the golf market require re-evaluation of the trade show concept’, say Messe München International.

The golf industry is currently facing an ongoing structural market change, during which retailers as well as the industry are undergoing considerable consolidation. These changes are also a result of the economic crisis causing the European golf market to decline. In addition, the budget migration to new growth markets like Asia is further driving the correction of the European market.

Based on the current market development GOLF EUROPE 2011 will not be held, and its individual elements will undergo re-evaluation.

“We are currently redesigning the GOLF EUROPE concept in close cooperation with the industry, in order to return to the market with a modified and conclusive format. The strategic reorientation will take some time, which means that the trade show will be postponed until further notice,” explains Klaus Dittrich, Chairman & CEO of Messe München

Messe München International (MMI) is one of the world’s leading exposition companies managing close to 40 trade shows for industrial, consumer goods, and new technology.

GOLF EUROPE’s future is now under development with the industry being invited to state its views about the positioning and presentation of future shows
