More than 100 golf course superintendents, course maintenance managers, golf directors and club managers are expected to attend this month’s Philippine Golf Course Management Conference.
The two-day gathering at The Orchard Golf and Country Club in Dasmarinas City is presented by the Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF) and supported by the Philippine Sports Commission, The R&A and the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA).
The conference is being organised by the Federation of Golf Clubs Philippines in co-operation with the National Golf Association of the Philippines (NGAP) and the Philippine Sports Commission.
Chuck Greif, a member of the AGIF’s Education Committee and Ransomes Jacobsen’s Managing Director, Asia Pacific, said: “We are pleased that the AGIF is once more returning to The Orchard Golf and Country Club for what has historically proved a highly successful event.
“The purpose of these gatherings is to benefit the Asian golf industry as a whole. We are extremely grateful, therefore, to sponsors, speakers, delegates, all those involved with the organisation – and especially to the management at The Orchard for their generosity in hosting us all.”
The programme will tee-off on Thursday, May 21 with welcome remarks from Conrad Benitez, President of The Orchard Golf and Country Club and Vice-President of the Federation of Golf Clubs Philippines and the NGAP.
Following an introduction from the AGIF, morning presentations will be made by Rey Patricio, course superintendent at Luisita Golf Club, and Dr Shoumo Mitra, Head of Ornamentals, Turf and Landscape at Syngenta Asia Pacific.
Nicer Landas, President of Aquaterra Integrated Solutions, will begin the afternoon session on the topic of Golf Course Drains and Bunker Solution before Grigg Bros’ International Business Director Bruce Williams, a Past President of the GCSAA, takes to the stage to discuss Communicating Maintenance Programmes with Members.
The opening day will conclude with Cherry Patulot, Auditor, SGS Philippines, addressing the issue of Environmental Compliance Requirements of Golf Courses followed by an open forum.
The morning of day two will be dedicated to field demonstrations with all sponsors showcasing their latest products to attendees.
A closing appreciation dinner will take place at The Orchard in the evening.
