Green Turtle Energy launches EV charging solution tailored for UK golf clubs

New EV solution offers revenue-generating opportunity as well as helping clubs modernise, attract visitors, and support sustainability.

Green Turtle Energy, an accredited electric vehicle (EV) charging operator, has announced the nationwide rollout of a bespoke EV charging solution designed specifically for golf clubs across the UK.

As the transition to electric vehicles accelerates, golf clubs are uniquely positioned to benefit from on-site charging infrastructure. Green Turtle Energy’s fully funded solution removes the barrier of upfront investment, enabling clubs to future-proof their facilities while unlocking new and diversified income streams.

The offering is tailored to the needs of golf venues, where visitors typically spend several hours on site — making them ideal locations for EV charging. By installing high-quality, reliable charging units in club car parks, golf clubs can provide a valuable amenity for members and guests while generating ongoing revenue from charging usage.

In addition to charging income, the solution introduces a secondary revenue channel through integrated digital marketing screens on the charging units. These screens create opportunities for targeted advertising partnerships, including promotions from leading golf brands and manufacturers, allowing clubs to benefit from additional marketing-driven income.

A spokesperson for Green Turtle Energy commented: “Golf clubs are perfectly suited for EV charging – long dwell times, loyal memberships, and regular visitor traffic make them ideal locations. Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for clubs to adopt this technology by removing upfront costs and delivering a turnkey solution that not only enhances the member experience but also creates meaningful, recurring revenue.”

The initiative also supports golf clubs in meeting sustainability objectives and aligning with broader environmental goals, an increasingly important consideration for members, visitors, and governing bodies alike.

With EV adoption continuing to rise across the UK, clubs that invest in charging infrastructure now are expected to gain a competitive advantage—attracting new visitors, retaining members, and reinforcing their reputation as forward-thinking, environmentally responsible venues.

Green Turtle Energy is currently engaging with golf clubs across the UK to identify suitable sites and begin the rollout. For more details, email Partnerships Director Andy Court at andy@greenturtle.energy, call 07802 271 929 or visit www.greenturtle.energy.
