‘Urbanisation is driving our vision’, says Club Car VP

Rapidly increasing urbanisation is driving a shift in mobility needs, and Club Car is responding with vision and innovation, according to the company’s Vice President EMEA, Marco Natale.

Natale shared his vision for urban mobility during a roundtable discussion at the recent World Economic Forum held in Davos, Switzerland, where he was among fellow global automotive leaders invited to take part in the roundtable, titled ‘Reimagining Urban Mobility: trends, innovations and opportunities: 2030 and beyond’, alongside organisations such as BMW, Hyundai and Volvo. Club Car was the sole representative from the micro-mobility sector.

“It was fascinating to take part in the discussion and hear the perspectives, insights and challenges of some exceptional leaders in technology, academia, service providers, distributors and investors,” said Natale. “For Club Car to be present at this session reaffirms its position as a leader in urban planning innovations and a pioneer for solutions that address the challenges of sustainable and efficient urban transport.”

Natale continued: “Two hundred years ago 10% of the population lived in urban areas. Today, it’s about half and by 2050 it is estimated to be 75%. That will lead to big challenges but also generates major opportunities.

“Mobility is much more than just getting from A to B. It encompasses electric vehicles, infrastructure, shared services and autonomous solutions. We are committed to shaping the future of mobility, not just with products but with solutions that redefine how people move around cities and towns.”

In 2022, Club Car launched URBAN, a range of innovative road-legal electric utility vehicles that are versatile, ergonomic and safer than any of its competitors thanks to stringent crash testing.

“The introduction of Urban is not just a simple product addition to the Club Car portfolio,” continues Natale. “It’s the evolution of 60 years of expertise, legacy and investment beyond the golf sector and into a landscape that is going to make a difference in the way people move around now and in the future.”
