QHotels launches winter membership offer ahead of seasonal Open events

4.29pm 4th November 2021 - Course Development

The QHotels Collection is preparing to launch its packed winter golf calendar, which includes the annual Winter Opens across its seven resorts in England and Scotland, concluding in December with the Christmas Open sponsored by Moët & Chandon Champagne.

As a further draw for golfers, QHotels has also announced a five-month winter membership deal that will run from November 1 to March 31, 2022 and includes the standard home club playing rights as a traditional membership, as well as a 10% discount in the respective resort’s pro shops.

Costing £120 or £160, depending on the resort of choice, the deal is intended to attract new members, and promises unlimited golf from Monday to Sunday with no winter greens, winter tees or fairway mats.

This assurance comes as a result of major investment of more than £2 million across the resorts this year, with further investment planned for 2022 and 2023. At the heart of this year’s work was improved drainage and greenkeeping equipment, which will help to protect the courses from the winter elements.

New players will also have the chance to take part in the series of Winter Open competitions that will run over November and December. Following the first pairs event at the end of October, each resort will also be hosting a four-ball Texas scramble event a month later in late November, which players can choose to participate in at a cost of £100 per team.

Into December, the festive spirit really kicks in with golfers being given the opportunity to play in the Christmas Open, which this year is in partnership with Moët & Chandon – one of the world’s most famous champagne labels.

The pairs event will feature quality prizes, including bottles of Moet champagne and full hospitality tickets to a European Tour event of the winner’s choice.

Keith Pickard, The QHotels Collections golf, leisure and spa director, said: “The winter period is always exciting across The QHotels Collection, especially at the golf resorts, with plenty on offer for golfers. The investment that has been made across the resorts into the drainage and course conditions allow us to promise a fantastic winter calendar and we can’t wait for people to experience what’s on offer.”

The QHotels Collection comprises Belton Woods Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort, in Grantham, Lincolnshire; Dunston Hall Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort, in Norwich; Oulton Hall Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort, Leeds; Slaley Hall Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort, in Hexham, Northumberland; Telford Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort, in Shropshire; DoubleTree by Hilton Forest Pines Spa & Golf Resort, in Brigg; and DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Westerwood Spa & Golf Resort.
