New Course for Galway

7.30am 24th April 2007 - Course Development

Arthur Spring, of Spring Golf Design, has designed a new golf course seven miles east of Galway City, Ireland. It is called Cregmore Park and it will open for play in June 2007.

The architect describes it as “a strong course as each and every hole is a good one. It will be a great test of skill and shot-making for pros and low amateurs but still a pleasant one for longer handicaps.” The course, 7,050 yards, was constructed to top standard by European Golf Services.

“There is a dearth of golf courses in the Galway area,” says Arthur Spring. “The older courses have long waiting lists for membership. The city has expanded enormously over the past two decades. A new golf course has been long awaited in the area.
