Leeds Golf Centre Joins 60 60 Golf Revolution

10.02am 25th February 2013 - Course Development

0057_Virtual_Golf_01 (3)Leeds Golf Centre is the latest driving range to join the UK’s newest golf craze, 60 60 Golf, becoming the first venue in West Yorkshire to operate the innovative practice format.

60 60 Golf was launched in 2012 as a fast and affordable alternative to traditional rounds of golf. Players are challenged to hit balls to driving range targets and score their game on the free-to-download smart phone app. With targets from 20 to 200 yards, 60 60 Golf is playable by any level of golfer, making it an ideal way for adults and children to get into golf.

To launch the new partnership, a free-to-enter National Challenge competition is taking place on Wednesday 27th February between midday and 8pm. Prizes on offer in the search for the ‘UK’s best range golfer’ include tickets to the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.

Craig Higgs, founder of 60 60 Golf, said: “I am delighted Leeds Golf Centre is the latest high-profile facility to install 60 60 Golf and I believe it will prove popular with local players of all abilities. The concept works because it’s quick, free, and doesn’t suffer from the stuffiness that sometimes puts people off trying the game.”

Leeds Golf Centre’s Operations Manager, Nigel Sweet, added: “The team and I are excited to see 60 60 Golf at Leeds Golf Centre – initial customer feedback has been very positive and we look forward to developing the relationship further.

“Leeds Golf Centre is equipped with 60 60 Golf targets and bays with a scoring unit to facilitate gameplay. After buying a basket of balls, 60 60 Golf is free to play for all customers.”
