Katameya Dunes gets Eagle’s world class branded collateral

Eagle has designed and delivered branded collateral for the new international golf resort Katameya Dunes, including bronze tee markers and fairway distance markers, and scorecards.

Located in New Cairo, Egypt, Katameya Dunes is a new luxury retreat comprising a 27 hole course designed by Sir Nick Faldo, along with a Five Star Plus hotel, a 3,000 square metre Spa and a state of the art Golf Academy. The 27 holes have been configured into two Championship courses: the Lakes Course is over 7,400 yards long and The Palms Course is over 7300 yards long and both are receiving rave reviews amongst industry experts.

Katameya Dunes is a golfing oasis in more ways than one, and no expense has been spared to provide a world class destination and resort for members and visitors. With the club’s high end positioning in mind, General Manager Simon Duffield asked Eagle to design and manufacture bronze mow-over tee markers and fairway distance markers: “I was familiar with Eagle’s product quality, and wanted bronze mow-overs because we wanted markers that were subtle and discrete and in keeping with the class of the courses, rather than something ‘standard’.

“The choice of bronze is also in keeping with the brand colours of gold and black, and in practical terms provides the added benefits of resilience, longevity and ease of maintenance for greenkeeping staff.”

Eagle designed the score cards around the Classic large format design, adding classy touches like the curved corners, a textured finish and a special fifth colour, gold. They have grids designed to accommodate upto five different tee positions and lengths (starting with red for the shortest, white, blue, gold and then black) for each course. The outer covers are designed with the Katameya Dunes logo and text in gold on a black background, and project the club’s branding clearly and distinctively.

The branded collateral was due to be delivered at the end of January, but the political uprising that heralded the Arab Spring meant that everything was stuck in Customs for at least a month. Now the markers have been installed, Simon Duffield is delighted with the results: “The Katameya Dunes development has been four years in the making, and we’re now in the process of marketing it to the world of golf. Eagle’s fulfilled all our expectations, and the designs for the mow-overs and the score cards are exactly what we wanted. They project the Katameya Dunes brand and quality in just the right way.”

“Katameya Dunes is already being described as one of the best courses in the region, and Eagle’s collateral both enhances the club’s upscale positioning and reinforces the kind of image we want to achieve.”
