Golf course to form centrepiece of new Saudi development in Gulf of Aqaba

9.32am 12th March 2024 - Course Development

NEOM, the evolving regional development taking place in northwest Saudi Arabia, has announced plans to build a new private golf community set in the coastal hills of the Gulf of Aqaba.

Designed by Ignacio Gomez and Lama Al Kharboush of Aedas, the beach-front development, called Gidori, will include 200 private villas and homes, plus an 80-room boutique hotel with restaurants, lounges shops, a beach club and a golf club with an 18-hole championship course, clubhouse and golf academy.

The architectural centrepiece of the complex will be a spectacular cantilevered structure rising from the coastal landscape that will house 190 luxury sea-view apartments alongside a range of dining experiences, signature retail stores and garden spaces.

Gidori’s 18-hole championship golf course will sweep inland through low hills and rocky outcrops, challenging golfers at all levels and featuring innovative design, exquisite coastal views and advanced technology. The elegant clubhouse will provide sophisticated hospitality for players, while the golf academy will offer expert advice and coaching.

Details of which firms have been commissioned to design or build the golf course have yet to be released.
