Baltusrol Golf Club Trusts Toro for US PGA Championship Prep

The prestigious Baltusrol Golf Club, located in Springfield Township, New Jersey, will host the 2016 PGA Championship and has utilised its comprehensive fleet of Toro turf care equipment and irrigation products to help prepare the course for the major championship tournament.

Mark Kuhns, director of grounds for Baltusrol Golf Club, and 40-year veteran of the golf course management industry, is ultimately responsible for course preparation at the PGA Championship. According to Kuhns, the process leading up to the tournament has been very rewarding and credits the pristine appearance of the golf club’s lower course to his staff of turf professionals, grounds crew and the Toro equipment and irrigation that was used throughout the months leading up to the tournament.

“I have maintained several of the finest courses in the world during my career, and I owe much of my success to my relationship with the people at Toro,” explains Kuhns. “We have worked with Toro and their local distributor, Storr Tractor Company, for years and trust the equipment will deliver the outstanding results the golf community has come to expect from a premiere golf club like Baltusrol.”

Baltustrol Golf ClubAccording to Kuhns, a major tournament like the PGA Championship requires additional course preparation, lots of planning and strict attention to detail. The Baltusrol grounds crew has been working around the clock to ensure the course is ready for the world stage.
