The PGA has strengthened its longstanding partnership with Club Car by signing a three-year extension until 2015.

Club Car, which supplies a fleet of emission-free golf cars for the PGA’s national and regional tournament schedule, is the world’s largest manufacturer of small-wheel, zero-emissions electric vehicles.

As part of the relationship, Club Car will continue to be part of the exclusive stable of PGA Partners and the sole provider of vehicles for its 700 annual regional and national events.

The new contract was signed at the recent PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, and PGA chief executive Sandy Jones, commented: “The PGA has a number of significant relationships in the golf industry, non more so than with Club Car who has been a longstanding PGA Partner.

“The PGA is proud to be associated with Club Car and I’m delighted to extend our long and close relationship for another three years, which ensures our tournament staff is equipped with only the very best golf cars.”

“Club Car is very pleased to continue its longstanding relationship with the PGA,” added Marc Dufour, President and CEO of Club Car. “We consider PGA Professionals to be golf’s most valuable ambassadors, and we remain committed to being their most valuable business resource.”

The golf cars supplied by Club Car feature the Delta-Q on-board charger system which was designed specifically for golf clubs and venues with fleets of up to 12 golf cars and utility vehicles to eliminate the need for a dedicated car barn.

The convenience and efficiency of being able to plug golf cars directly into the mains electricity supply is persuading many larger fleet operators to switch over to the new recharging system instead of installing bespoke charging units.

Club Car is also an official supplier to the European Tour and the 2014 Ryder Cup between Europe and the United States at Gleneagles, Scotland, where it will provide 300 vehicles essential in the operation and smooth running of golf’s most prestigious team event.
