TGI Choose Nikon

8.12am 18th October 2010 - Corporate

Nikon has been selected as the official laser rangefinder supplier to the TGI Group in 2011, cementing its reputation for producing market-leading laser rangefinders.

The new partnership underlines Nikon’s commitment to supporting the green grass golf professional. The company is already the official supplier to the Foremost group, now with TGI’s professionals on its radar it will be accessing the largest network of golf professional retailers in Europe.

“The decision to bring Nikon into our group has been two years in the making,” explained TGI Managing Director Eddie Reid. “Since Nikon entered the UK golf market we have been watching the business develop successfully with keen interest. There’s no doubt that Nikon’s laser rangefinders are the best in the business and as such we have no hesitation in recommending their products to our extensive network of golf professionals.”

Nikon’s Sport Optic Commercial Manager Tim Hunnable added: “We are delighted that TGI has decided to choose Nikon as their official laser rangefinder for 2011. It proves that Nikon is the Number One laser rangefinder manufacturer with the best products in the market.”

Nikon’s first appearance as a TGI accredited supplier will be at the ‘Golf Show 2010’ at the Harrogate International Centre from October 26-28. The new-look show, which for the first year is combining the powers of both the Foremost and TGI buying groups, is expected to attract hundreds of golf professionals from across Europe.

Golf professionals visiting the Nikon stand at the Golf Show will be able to test the company’s new top-of-the-range 1000A S laser rangefinder as well as the award-winning Laser 350G, which will continue to be part of the Nikon line-up for 2011.

The Nikon 1000A S is the most advanced Laser Rangefinder to date, with features including an Active Brightness Control Viewfinder designed to make viewing the target clearly easy in all light conditions and Nikon’s First Target Priority technology that makes it easy to accurately measure the distance to the pin on a green with clutter in the background.

The new Nikon 1000A S also has a special ‘Golf Mode’ button that allows the player to choose to switch on or off the function that gives them an even more precise distance reading that takes into account the slopes on a golf course.

Add to that further enhancements including a larger ocular (18mm) for easy viewing, a wider field of view (7.5 degrees), a longer eye relief design to help golfers who wear glasses and an even greater distance measurement range (from as close in as 10 yards to as far away as 1,000 yards), and it is easy to see why the new Nikon 1000A S will be the ‘must-have’ item for sale in professional’s shops next year.

Golf professionals making the trip to Harrogate for the Golf Show 2010 will be rewarded with the choice of a number of different Nikon show deals.

“Once again we will have a selection of show offers available to the golf professionals visiting our Nikon stand,” said Roger Wolfe, Managing Director of Yumax Ltd, UK and Ireland Golf Distributor. “We’re looking forward to meeting with and assisting the new TGI golf professionals with all their buying needs.”
