TaylorMade introduces the r7 quad TP driver

8.30am 9th July 2004 - Corporate

Following the success of the r7 quad, TaylorMade Golf introduces the r7 quad TP (Tour Preferred) driver that delivers 883 sets of launch conditions and nine swing weights. The recommended retail price is £649.

The r7 quad TP features the same TaylorMade Launch Control (TLC) technology as the r7 quad however, where the r7 quad comes with a total of four TLC cartridges, the TP version is accompanied by twelve TLC cartridges: two weighing two grams, one weighing four grams, four weighing six grams, one weighing eight grams, two weighing ten grams, one weighing twelve grams and one weighing fourteen grams.
The increased number of weight cartridges offers players a wider range of launch conditions than the six permitted by the r7 quad to optimize trajectory and distance.
In addition to permitting a larger quantity of centre of gravity (CG) locations and launch conditions, the r7 quad TP’s broad range of different weighted TLC cartridges gives the user the ability to choose from nine possible swing weights: C8, C9.25, D0.5, D1.75, D3, D4.25, D5.5, D6.75, D8. A different number of CG locations are possible with each swing weight, adding up to the 883 total of possible CG locations.
“The r7 quad TP’s TLC technology gives skilled players an incredibly valuable tool with which they can finely tune their launch conditions, allowing even a touring professional to generate added distance and accuracy,” says Sean Toulon, senior vice president of brand management and creation.
“In the ultra-competitive world of professional golf, that’s an advantage that can‘t be ignored. This is the fourth straight year that TaylorMade has been the No. 1 driver on the PGA Tour, and we‘re confident that the r7 quad TP will more than help us maintain that position.”
The r7 quad TP also includes a TLC torque wrench, TP trajectory wheel and TP case to carry the additional weights and comes in three tour-proven shafts: the Fujikura Speeder 757 and Fujikura SIX, plus the Mitsubishi TP-70 LT, which is a custom option.
The r7 quad TP is available in lofts of 7.5, 8.5, 9.5 and 10.5 degrees at a recommended retail price of £649.
