England Golf has announced the addition of Swan Golf Designs to its official supplier line up to provide ’expert and professional advice’ to clubs on issues pertaining to golf course design and renovation.
Borne out of the golf course design and construction partnership of Alex Swan and Sir Henry Cotton, Swan Golf Designs, now led by William Swan, has established itself as a leading architectural practice with more than 60 years’ experience in the UK golf industry. SGD works with golf clubs throughout the UK and beyond to improve their courses through redesign and renovation, enhancing golfer experiences, reconnecting the course with the club’s history, eliminating possible safety issues, reducing maintenance costs and increasing revenue earning potential.
As part of the agreement, affiliated clubs or facilities now have access to a free consultation call with SGD of up to 30 minutes to receive expert advice on course design – use the details below to book. During 2023 a number of webinars will be delivered and resources made available providing safety and design advice to help clubs develop their understanding of key topics in this area.
SGD provide course audits to help clubs identify opportunities for improvement through redesign, but also can help to explore options for wider development of the facility by maximising their use of land and recommending options for alternative use. They also specialise in golf course safety and through analysis will help to identify potential risks, making recommendations on how to reduce or remove these with minimal impact to the course’s integrity.
