Turf care equipment specialists Ransomes Jacobsen have signed a three year extension which will see it retain official supplier status with The Professional Golfers’ Association.

The Ipswich-based firm is a leading supplier and innovator of high quality turf equipment and vehicles, helping deliver superior performance to golf facilities across the globe.

The agreement will see Ransomes Jacobsen continue to play a key role at the heart of the PGA’s official supplier programme which includes a network of golf’s leading companies.

As part of the relationship Ransomes Jacobsen will also support the PGA with equipment where required to ensure the top quality condition of venues where its national tournaments are staged.

Ransomes Jacobsen is recognised for the most comprehensive range of turf care equipment in the business but also complements that with a commitment to the environment, where it is still the only turf equipment manufacturer to be accredited with ISO 14001 – the international standard for environmental management.

Its diverse range of products includes a pioneering approach to managing steep banks and slopes with the introduction of a Ransomes Spider II remote controlled mower.

In July 2009 the firm revealed it would be supplying more than £1.5million worth of golf course maintenance equipment to the Al Ruwaya Golf Club in Dubai, the first golf course design created by Tiger Woods Design.

“Ransomes Jacobsen has established itself as a world leader in turf care equipment and the PGA is delighted to cement its relationship by welcoming them as PGA Official Supplier for another three years,” said PGA Property and Commercial Director Robert Maxfield.

David Withers, Managing Director of Ransomes Jacobsen added: “This is yet more excellent news for Ransomes Jacobsen; we have won significant business across the globe this year, which is epitomised by the Tiger Woods contract and we are forging ahead with new product development,  launching the revolutionary Jacobsen Eclipse 322 riding greens mower in January 2010.

“We look forward to our continued working relationship with the PGA and PGA Golf Management over the next three years and beyond.”
