Pacific Links International Retains Signature Group to Accelerate U.S. Growth

7.52am 14th May 2014 - Corporate

Pacific Links websitePacific Links International, one of the world’s foremost owners of high-end golf courses with a robust golf club affiliate program, has retained Signature Group to assist with the growth of the Pacific Links Golf Network (PLGN).

Pacific Links International provides golfers with a premium golf experience through an innovative membership structure that offers exceptional member experiences at a member’s home club but also through reciprocal access to one of the finest collections of high-quality member and affiliated golf clubs in the world. With more than 100 courses worldwide – and growing with a focus on affiliated relationships in targeted markets – the PLGN is ideal for golfers who travel extensively, enjoy playing world-class courses or simply want the high-quality service and experience of a private club. The PLGN allows participating affiliate clubs to create a premium member amenity and derive more revenue through a membership model to use low demand tee times.

Signature Group, a golf-centered strategic marketing, communications and brand development company based in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., will interact with clubs to promote the PLGN affiliation and to grow its base of clubs.

“Our effort to expand the options of private golf club membership makes us different than anyone else competing in this marketplace,” said Charles Lorimer, Chief Operating Officer of Pacific Links International. “The purpose of our network of exceptional golf clubs is to offer a member amenity as well as appropriate revenue streams to the private clubs, while being true their membership brand. We are accomplishing this while we maintain the integrity, privacy and unique character of the clubs with which we affiliate. Our growth has been very quick, but controlled; adding the right type of clubs for our network is paramount.”

“Signature Group’s experience in dealing with golf globally and the leadership provided by key Signature individuals such as Bruce Lucker and Bill Wagner was instrumental in convincing us that Signature is a very well-connected and respected group that can accelerate the already rapid pace of growth for our Pacific Links Golf Network.”

Canadian-owned Pacific Links International, founded in 2009, has established an affiliation with the PGA TOUR that provides reciprocal access to 32 member properties within the PGA TOUR’s TPC Network and Heritage properties. That group includes TPC Sawgrass, home of THE PLAYERS Championship each May. The association with the PGA TOUR also includes the title sponsorship of the Champions Tour’s Pacific Links Hawai’i Championship each September at Kapolei, Hawai’i.

The company is a wholly owned Canadian company managed by Bruce Simmonds, Chief Executive Officer of Pacific Links, and many of the executive team that founded and grew ClubLink Corporation into Canada’s largest owner and operator of great private golf clubs.

“We have known of Pacific Links International for quite a while because of the extent of work we have done for our client base in Asia and the United States,” said Bruce Lucker, CEO of Signature Group. “Pacific Links International is an impressive group with some talented people at the helm. We are impressed with their recognition that there is a desire by many golf club members to access high quality private golf clubs like their own when traveling on business or for pleasure. This is not only a welcome benefit to club members; it also helps generate incremental rounds of golf in the United States, Asia and around the world. We are absolutely convinced that the Pacific Links Golf Network is a valuable amenity for the best clubs in the nation and given Pacific Links is the owner of exceptional private clubs we believe its interests are well aligned with the clubs we look to invite into the network .”

Pacific Links International is a Canadian-owned golf corporation that provides member access to more than 100 quality golf clubs by some of the game’s greatest designers including Pete Dye, Greg Norman and Jack Nicklaus in signature golf destinations in North America, Australia and Asia. Pacific Links offers a unique membership structure whose main feature is reciprocal access to multiple clubs around the world with tour-quality design, strong character and the ability to deliver a memorable golf experience in a cosmopolitan golf location.

Pacific Links is building The 27 Club in Tianjin, China, which is scheduled to open in 2015.
