Blinder Bunker is unleashing its unique Bunker Liner system and Ecopaths onto the American market with the launch of Blinder USA.
The American arm of the company will be run by Alan Fitzgerald, a highly respected Course Superintendent, based near Philadelphia, who was so impressed when he first saw the Blinder products as a customer that he struck an agreement to set up Blinder USA.
“I really believe in the product and judging by the reaction of Superintendents who visited our Booth at the Golf Industry Show, in Orlando, last month and had the opportunity to see and handle the Bunker Liner and Ecopath material, there are a lot of potential customers out there for us,” said Alan, who is Superintendent at Ledge Rock Golf Club, in Reading, Pennsylvania, and also President of the local GCSAA Chapter.
Premium products which require professional installation Blinder Bunker Liners and Ecopaths Alan, who has acquired the full US rights to Blinder, will ultimately train teams to enable Blinder to be installed in every State in the Union although he does believe the Blinder Bunker Liner will have a particular attraction in the more northerly States where colder temperatures can result in bunker damage.
“Is Blinder for everyone? Possibly not. Is it a solution for a lot of guys? I think it is.”
Blinder Bunker was launched by Murray and Penny Long in 2011 and since then the Bunker Liners have been installed in some of the most prestigious golf clubs in the country, as well as offering solutions to clubs which have had chronic problems in individual bunkers.
Last year the Ecopaths were launched, available in a range of colours to blend into the surrounding areas, and these have quickly become popular with golf clubs and other facilities which required hard wearing but soft impact pathway.
“We are absolutely delighted to welcome Alan on board and we are sure we have the right man to bring Blinder to the American market. We will give him all the support he requires and we wish him every success,” said Penny.
