Deca Systems, Inc., dba GOLFBUDDY (Golfbuddy.com), a leading innovator in the golf rangefinder industry, has been acquired by GolfZon Newdin Holdings, Ltd. (GolfZon). GolfZon, best known for its world-class simulators, is also the owner of the largest golf course management company and golf retail chain stores in South Korea. GOLFBUDDY now will operate under the new company name, GolfZon Deca Co., Ltd, dba GOLFBUDDY.
“We are excited that GOLFBUDDY is now a part of Golfzon Newdin and feel confident that GOLFBUDDY will continue to make a strong mark in the golf GPS and rangefinder market,” said Steve (Joomyeong) Jung, new president of GolfZon Deca Col, Ltd. “This acquisition not only will benefit GOLFBUDDY as it develops the most advanced products, but also will strengthen our strategic plan to expand more into the overall IT business in golf.”
While specific terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed, GolfZon Newdin stated that there will be an expanded focus on its R&D and IT business.
GOLFBUDDY has as its primary goal to provide the most accurate and innovative golf rangefinders on the market. GOLFBUDDY is based in Santa Fe Springs, Calif., with product development and course data management centers in Korea, one of the world’s leading suppliers of high-quality electronic products.
Founded in 2003 with a single product, GOLFBUDDY now has rangefinder products in various categories: wearables, handhelds, voice and laser. GOLFBUDDY is a portable golf distance-measuring device that accurately measures the distance to the hole via satellite during rounds of golf.
