Golf Genius adds features to free competition software trial

9.48am 8th June 2020 - Corporate

Golf Genius Software has continued to develop its contactless golf solution with the addition of text messaging, as the company’s free trial offer enters its final month.

In March, Golf Genius extended a helping hand to golf clubs outside of North America, offering free use of its industry-leading cloud-based tournament management software until the end of June.

Craig Higgs, managing director of Golf Genius International, said: “We are seeing an increased pace towards the digitisation of golf brought on by the demand for a safe contactless solution for golf amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The company has continued to add features to its product designed to safely and efficiently manage contactless golf as a solution to the impact of coronavirus on golf.

“The new feature allows clubs to compose and send text messages to their membership directly from the Golf Genius Tournament Management Software. Messages can include data fields such as tee times, starting hole, and even the player GGID code used for contactless mobile app live scoring.

“The addition to the existing suite of communication tools of text messaging will enable clubs and organisers to send out tee time information as well as course conditions to ensure the flow onto the course is controlled. You can also congratulate winners when competitive golf returns, hopefully in the near future.”

Golf Genius has assigned extra resource into developing enhancements specifically to improve contactless golf, with a digital scorecard feature imminent, that will make marking and counter signing competition cards easy to enforce.
