Foremost Golf can today announce that it has merged the two groups Foremost Golf and Alliance Golf into one group: Foremost Golf. The new group has over one thousand and eighty member Golf Professionals in the United Kingdom.

“We have come a long way since our inception as a buying group 25 years ago” stated Paul Hedges, Chief Executive, Foremost Golf. “Today we are indisputably the largest buying group in Europe. In fact to our knowledge with over one thousand and eight member Golf Professionals we are larger than any other buying group in the world.”

This merger has been prompted by the large take up of the latest Retail Support and Marketing solutions offered by Foremost Golf to the members of both groups and the need to simplify business for Golf Professionals and Suppliers to the industry.

“Providing the best buying and trading terms to Golf Professionals remains a priority” commented Hedges “and as the largest group of Golf Professionals operating together we are well placed to ensure we can continue deliver the best Trading Terms to our members, but we have added so much more to our portfolio of services and solutions to enable our Golf Professionals to be the most competitive”.

Foremost Golf now provides: a central administration and payment solution, a central distribution facility that allows members to buy single supplier products whether they have an individual account or not with that supplier; selected exclusive lines that can be stocked by choice; online promotion and sale alerts that can be directed to the Golf Professional’s mobile phone; Product Introduction and Product Close Out updates with merchandising advice in the industry’s leading Trade Information website; Best Practice advice on Retail Management, Marketing and Buying also provided online; a Point of sale signage solution enabling customization and local or central printing of high quality store signage; a national marketing programme to attract all golfers irrespective of their affiliation; a web site and email marketing service for every Golf Professional and the industry’s leading integrated marketing solution.

“Our passion is enabling the Golf Professional to be competitive and to deliver the highest possible service and best value to their golf club members, customers and of course the golf clubs themselves” added Hedges. “Being competitive means more than just the lowest purchase price. It means the least risk with terms that enable better cash flow, improved margins through identified profit builders that deliver value to the golfer, the best communication with the member and customer through the most effective in-store; local and online marketing solutions; and, of course, providing the Golf Professional with the most up-to-date information, knowledge and commercial expertise”.

“Being one group – Foremost Golf – also simplifies the operation for our partners” added Andy Martin, Director Supplier Services at Foremost Golf. “Our aim is to lower the cost of doing business and to make the green-grass channel the most effective retail channel for our partners. Obviously now with one point of contact, one business process and access to the most comprehensive retail and trade marketing and communication solutions we are making the power of one thousand Golf Professionals work for our suppliers”.
