Golf industry apparel expert Tony Wilkinson is heading up Cross Sportswear in the UK and Ireland.

Cross is one of Europe’s most dynamic golf fashion brands, the Swedish company producing ranges that contain strong technology allied to a high aesthetic appeal; attributes much in evidence in the 2014 offering now available.

Tony Wilkinson, who has successfully built brand share for labels Greg Norman Collection, Reebok, Ashworth, Callaway and Dunlop during the last 20 years, was seen as the perfect person to reintroduce Cross to the UK and Ireland golf customer.

Tony said: “I have always respected the innovation and quality of the Cross brand. With the unique styling and the technology level there, I also believe that Cross provides something genuinely different from anything else sold in the UK market.

“The Cross management team and board of directors have been really supportive. I am very excited about bringing Cross back into the UK and Ireland by working with some of the best green grass professionals and retailers, who I know will appreciate what Cross has to offer them.”

Wilkinson’s CV is an impressive one, including European General Manager of Greg Norman Collection and Reebok Golf (1992-1996), returning as European President of Greg Norman Collection between 2005-2013.

After playing a key role in relaunching the Dunlop brand and launching the Maxfli Revolution golf ball in the late nineties, he enjoyed five years as European Managing Director of Ashworth and Callaway Golf Apparel between 2000-2005.

Following his appointment at Cross, Tony has wasted no time in assembling a committed sales team that is now introducing the 2014 Cross ranges to a first raft of new accounts.
