As a result of the partnership, Smartpro Coaching has developed a customised coaching toolkit to be used as a coach and player resource for the County Academy, England Futures and Advanced Apprenticeships in Sporting Excellence (AASE) Academy Programmes.
The Toolkit has been specifically designed with a Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model in mind, using a complete approach to a player’s overall game.
Stuart Armstrong, Performance Development Manager at England Golf, said, “The Coaching Toolkit is a truly innovative idea and it is fast becoming an essential resource for our coaches and managers. It enables them to develop young people with golfing potential, by providing a structured approach to how the coach and player work together. It also enables interaction between the coach and player between sessions which is vital.
“A coach utilising the resources within the Coaching Toolkit will inevitably find that they are providing an enhanced experience for the player. The Coaching Toolkit therefore is a sign of quality coaching.”
Smartpro Director and creator of the Coaching Toolkit, Sarah Claridge, said “I am delighted that the Coaching Toolkit has been recognised by The England Golf Partnership, and proud that they have chosen to work with Smartpro in this long-term relationship.
“From a professional’s point of view, communication between coach and player can often be restricted to lesson time alone, which makes progressive mentoring difficult. I developed Smartpro Coaching as a way of enhancing this communication. I hope that ultimately the England Golf Partnership will find Smartpro Coaching an invaluable asset in developing golf stars of the future.”
Developed by an Advanced Professional golfer and a team of specialists, Smartpro Coaching is an online toolkit of teaching aids and golf coaching resources, which aims to enhance a professional’s coaching business by providing them with the practical resources to run and market their business professionally, efficiently and profitably.
The first of its kind in Europe, Smartpro Coaching creates a customised toolkit for each individual coach to use in association with their players. It allows coaches to manage and access player data and lesson history online and to create a programme of development from which professionals can monitor the progress of their players and pinpoint areas for improvement. Similarly, the toolkit allows for players to communicate results and targets to the professional; resources which can be accessed by both parties anywhere in the world.
The toolkit can be customised to fit the individual professional’s needs and can be adapted to meet the standard of each player they work with. The branding and layout of the materials provided can be individually adapted, whilst the professional is able to select which resources to use, in order to get the most out of the player and the product.
