The successful Pro-Greenkeeper event, put on by Campey Turf Care Systems and the PGA, returns to Hart Common Golf Club, Westhoughton, Bolton for the third installment of the popular competition.
Tuesday 9th August 2016 will once again see greenkeepers paired with a professional as they tackle a challenging 18-holes. All participants will be able to sample stunning views the course offers of Cheshire and North Wales, as they bid to be crowned 2016 champions.
The competition is open not only to head greenkeepers, but greens staff and committee members. Golfers can be paired with a PGA Pro on the day, or are free to play with a Pro of their choice if they register with the PGA beforehand.
The day begins with an invigorating breakfast at 9am, before teams make their way to the first tee for a prompt 10am start to the day.
Campey’s UK and Ireland Sales Manager, Ian Campbell, has orchestrated the event, and is looking forward to building on the success of previous years. He said: “The Pro-Am challenge is great for getting greenkeepers out onto the course playing with professionals. It also gives them an opportunity to network with fellow greenkeepers and see some of the latest course maintenance machinery in action.”
As per previous years there will be on course spot prizes during the Pro-Am tournament, fantastic amateur prizes and a professional prize fund up £3,600 and a first prize of £1,000 if a full field of 50 is achieved.
Players and visitors on the day will also have the opportunity to peruse Campey’s range of turf care equipment. There will be a series of demonstrations of the latest machinery and techniques for golf and sports turf maintenance.
On show will be the resoundingly popular Air2G2, the Vredo Overseeder, Imants Shockwave and Dakota Turf Tender.
There is still time to enter the competition, and anyone wishing to do so can download an entry form from Campey Turf Care at www.campeyturfcare.com/campey-turf-care-pro-am
